Description:

Our commitment to a strong, vibrant, Jewish and democratic state of Israel, secure within its borders, is unyielding. The Reform Movement is also deeply opposed to the occupation of the West Bank by Israel, to the expansion of settlements in the West Bank, and to the oppressive treatment of the Palestinian population. We believe that ultimately, a negotiated agreement based on a two-state outcome– a Jewish state and a Palestinian state – is the only way to achieve real security for Israel and its citizens, preserve a Jewish and democratic state, and establish a long-term, secure future for the Palestinian people.

Jewish Values

We believe that Kol yisrael arevim zeh ba’zeh (Shevuot 39a), “All of Israel and the Jewish people are responsible, one for the other.” We are committed to the safety and vitality of the Jewish people and to a secure and just state of Israel as a home – for all Jews and for all its inhabitants.

Take Action

Urge Congress to Prevent West Bank Settler Violence

Amidst a sharp increase in settler violence in the West Bank in recent weeks, it is past time for decisive, public, and consistent action to end attacks that violate Palestinian human rights and endanger the prospects for long-term peace and coexistence. Introduced by Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY-12) and Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), the West Bank Violence Prevention Act would impose sanctions on those responsible for settler violence. At this critical moment in Israel's history, urge Congress to support this bill.

Thank President Biden for Outlining a Path Toward a Meaningful Ceasefire

On May 31st, President Biden released an outline for a meaningful ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas that would return the hostages taken on October 7th, ensure Israel’s security, and end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. This announcement has the potential to hasten a peaceful and secure future for Israelis and Palestinians alike.

Tell Secretary Blinken to Support Continued U.S. Leadership Toward Successful Release of the Hostages

On October 7, Hamas launched its horrific attack on Israel, massacring over 1200 people and taking 240 people hostage, including women, children, people with disabilities, and the elderly. Now, more than 9 months since the attack, at least 129 hostages still remain Hamas’ captives. Urge Secretary Blinken to support continued U.S. leadership toward successful release of the hostages.

What's New

A Shabbat Message

This week, as Shabbat approaches, we gather in community to pray for the shelter of peace in Israel and at home.

A Message of Support

While we recognize that the deep conflict between Israelis and Palestinians will not be resolved over the summer, we believe that come the fall, college campuses must once again be safe for all students - and this includes Jewish students living their Jewish commitments openly and proudly.
