Reform Jewish Movement Responds to Massacre in Buffalo

MAY 14, 2022, WASHINGTON, D.C. – In response to the horrific mass shooting perpetrated by a white supremacist and antisemitic gunman who killed 10 people in a Black neighborhood in Buffalo, NY, Rabbi Jonah Dov Pesner, Director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, released the following statement:

“The pain of today’s massacre in Buffalo will endure among the racist horrors in American history. We pray for the loved ones of those murdered, for the city to find healing, and for our nation to awaken fully to the need to address the racism that continues to plague us.

“White supremacy manifesting in antisemitism, racism, and other forms of hate, is a scourge. Coupled with the easy access to guns that our nation tolerates, it is deadly. May the memories of those murdered today be a blessing always.”
