Have you heard the exciting news?

Reproductive Freedom is on the Ballot in Florida this November. On Monday, April 1, 2024, the Florida Supreme Court announced that The Amendment to Limit Government Interference in Abortion (Amendment 4) is now in the hands of voters in November.

RAC-FL, along with our partners and congregations, will focus on mobilizing turnout, hosting phone banks, post-carding, and texting with Florida voters to encourage voter turnout through continued education and awareness of the ballot measure.

How can you make a difference? We need everyone's hands on deck as the amendment requires 60% approval to pass to ensure the continued sweeping victories of states that have won since the overturn of Roe v. Wade in June 2022.

Be with us at our upcoming Action Nights:

  1. Reproductive Freedom Justice Jam training. Be with us virtually on Thursday, April 18th, from 7:30-8:30pm to learn how to host a Justice Jam in your community focused on Reproductive Freedom and Protecting Democracy. REGISTER HERE.

  2. May Phone bank Action Night 05/07/2024. Be with us for another opportunity to connect with Vote by Mail Voters. Training will be provided, then calls to voters and a quick debrief before we end at 8pm ET. REGISTER HERE.

If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact leaders in your congregation or Michele Eiger - RAC-FL State Organizer.

RAC-FL Victories

We have been building RAC-FL since 2018 when we organized around the successful passage of Amendment 4, and in 2019 we partnered with immigration justice organizations to close the Homestead child detention center. In 2020 we channeled our energy into Every Voice, Every Vote: The Reform Movement’s Civic Engagement Campaign, through which we mobilized over ten thousand members/voter contacts in our congregations and communities and worked in partnership across lines of difference to mobilize low-propensity voters and combat voter suppression.

Past Events

2020 Launch and Civic Engagement Campaign

RAC-FL officially launched in July 2020, in conjunction with our statewide Civic Engagement Campaign, a part of Every Voice: The Reform Movement’s 2020 Civic Engagement Campaign. Our goals were to ensure that every voice was heard, and every vote counted in this past election and to begin building our RAC-FL base across the state. This campaign focused on:

  • Mobilizing our congregations to become 100% voting communities
  • Combatting voter suppression by mobilizing low propensity voters through phone banking in partnership with the New Florida Majority Education Fund
  • Engaging with County Supervisors of Elections in partnership with All Voting Is Local to ensure full access to the ballot for every eligible voter
