RAC-FL State Campaigns
RAC-FL's work for 2025 and 2026 will focus on opposing the recently signed anti-immigrant law in Florida. In partnership with national and local interfaith coalition partners, our campaign will build robust communities that will stand up to this unjust law and policies Together, we will build power through our shared values, raise our moral voices and work together to ensure that every immigrant/refugee is protected and cared for in our communities.
Take Action
Recently, over a hundred of us gathered on Zoom to learn how to advocate for our neighbors in Florida.
Here are the actions you can take now:
- Accompany your neighbor to their immigration legal appointments.
- Advocate to ensure our schools are safe for all students and their families.
- Connect with local immigration/refugee agencies serving your community.
- Gather as an interfaith community in your area and raise our moral voices against Florida’s anti-immigration policies.

November 2025:
On Thursday, November 6th, in Sarasota, Florida, over 400 participants, both in person and online, gathered for a remarkable evening with RAC Director Rabbi Jonah Pesner, who grounded us in the idea that leading with love matters now more than ever.
Our deepest gratitude goes to Temple Emmanuel's Social Justice and Israel committees, as well as to Fran & Jack Braverman and Jadwiga Brown, whose generous support made this evening possible. Jadwiga dedicated the program to the memory of her beloved husband, Donald Brown, of blessed memory.

Past RAC-FL Successes
- Campaigning for Reproductive Freedom in 2024
RAC-FL partnered with Floridians Protecting Freedom and a statewide coalition on a citizen-led ballot initiative to enshrine reproductive rights into the Florida constitution. Fifty-seven percent of voters supported the measure, falling short of the 60% threshold, but sending a clear message to Florida politicians to take legislative action to end the abortion ban.
- Mobilizing Congregations for Civic Engagement in 2021
RAC-FL Mobilized our congregations to become 100% voting communities, mobilized low propensity voters through phone banking, and engaged with county election supervisors to ensure full ballot access for every eligible voter.
- Closing the Homestead Child Detention Center in 2019
RAC-FL joined a statewide coalition of activists, allies, and other faith communities to collect and deliver a petition with 128,000 signatures which led to the closure of the Homestead Child Detention Center on August 3.
