Beth Hillel's Intergenerational Retreat
Beth Hillel Temple in Kenosha, Wisconsin created an intergenerational weekend retreat built around social justice and advocacy to put tikkun olam in the forefront of the congregation. The retreat included speakers and hands-on activities on topics ranging from stem cell research, homelessness, poverty, seperation between church and state, and Darfur. The weekend resulted in numerous initiatives and advocacy on a wide range of issues. Projects included collecting unused medical items for hospitals in remote areas of the world and raising awareness about fair trade.
