Temple Jeremiah’s religious school engaged in a full-year social action project called “We Can Make a Difference” to support Ethiopian Jewry. In conjunction with the North American Conference on Ethiopian Jewry (NACOEJ) the school sold Ethiopian embroidery and hosted an Ethiopian-themed Shabbat. The students and parents of Temple Jeremiah raised enough money to adopt and feed a group of Ethiopian Jewish children for one full year ($72.00). The congregation hosted a national photo exhibit of pictures taken in Ethiopia and Israel for two months in order to continue to raise awareness about the Jewish community is Ethiopia.
