Washington, D.C., June 6, 2016 – In response to legislation under consideration by the Israeli Knesset that would require non-profits that recover foreign funds to declare themselves as foreign agents, Rabbi Jonah Dov Pesner, Director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, issued the following statement:

This Yom HaAtzmaut (Israeli Independence Day – May 11-12), there is so much to celebrate. We celebrate the 68th birthday of a thriving, Jewish and democratic state in our historic homeland.
Starting in the evening on Tuesday, May 10, Israelis and supporters of Israel around the world will mark Yom HaZikaron, the Day of Remembrance for Israeli fallen soldiers and victims of terror.
