Overview:
Congregations send care packages to support American, Jewish, or Israeli military personnel, depending on the community’s interest . Packages can include necessities, treats, and letters from congregants.
Preparation:
The social action committee approaches local doctors, dentists, and food distribution companies for donations.
Project Implementation:
Congregations can create programs tied in to Jewish or secular holidays. Programs can be long-term or short-term. Programs can be tailored to specific age groups, or open to the community-at-large.
Results:
Your gifts, notes of thanks and well wishes can make a world of difference to troops stationed far away from home under trying conditions.
