The Step-Up Ministry is a transitional program which helps homeless working families achieve self-sufficiency. Since the program started in 1988 over 100 families have been helped and assisted. Temple Beth Or has been involved for over two years as one of two partners. As a co-partner, the community is not only committed to provide volunteers, but also to give financial assistance. The Temple Board approved providing $10,000 per year. This year the Temple Sisterhood actively joined the Tuesday evening dinner program. The entire congregation took a role in October with a Tag Sale, all proceeds to go to the Step-Up Program. The congregation raised $5,000. Information about this program is always included in the monthly Temple Newsletter.
