Temple Sinai in Atlanta, Georgia created a food rescue program called "Second Helpings" in which volunteers pick up prepared foods that would otherwise be discarded from local restaurants, schools and groceries and deliver the items to various agencies and community organizations that reach out to some of the neediest members of the community. To date, Second Helpings has collected over 125 tons of food.
