April 29 – May 3

Join Reform Jews from around the state on April 29-May 3 as we call Governor Newsom to ask him to include $39 million for CalVIP local gun violence prevention programs in his May revised budget. Our goal is 800 calls to the Governor.  

Please use these resources to recruit volunteers:

Sample announcement (to use in front of large groups at Shabbat services, board meetings, and other gatherings)

Greeter script (to approach individual congregants at services or religious school carpool line)

Greeter pamphlet (to hand to congregants)

Phone bank script asking members of your congregation or community to participate in the Call-In Week.

A model email you can send out to your congregation or community asking them to participate in the Call-In Week.

A letter your congregation or clergy should send to your state legislators, asking them to support $39 million in the state budget for CalVIP local gun violence prevention programs

You and others in our congregation or community should sign up now to make calls at www.rac.org/CAcallregister.  On the morning of April 29, we will send out an email asking people to go to http://www.rac.org/CAGVPcalls to find 1) talking points, 2) Governor Newsom’s phone number, and 3) a place to report the results of the call.  That website is not active yet.
