Press Release from the Religious Action Center

WASHINGTON – In response to the shooting incident at a congressional baseball practice this morning in Alexandria, VA, Barbara Weinstein, Director of the Commission on Social Action of Reform Judaism, issued the following statement on behalf of the Union for Reform Judaism, Central Conference of American Rabbis and wider Reform Movement:

We share in the shock and horror caused by the shooting that occurred this morning targeting members of congress and others on an Alexandria, VA baseball field. We pray for a full and swift recovery for all those injured and add to the words of appreciation expressed for the tremendous work of the Capitol Police officers and other first responders whose swift actions undoubtedly saved lives. Violence deserves no place in our society.
