Reform Jewish Movement Welcomes White House Effort to Counter Islamophobia

November 2, 2023 - The Reform Movement welcomes the White House’s commitment to develop the first-ever National Strategy to Counter Islamophobia. At a time when Muslim communities are experiencing heightened levels of hate – and as antisemitism and white supremacy increase more generally – it is right that the highest level of government is committed to pushing back against anti-Muslim hatred and related bigotry targeting others (such as Arabs and Sikhs) perceived to be Muslim. The development of a national strategy to combat Islamophobia will bring us closer to a world in which all people can live and worship freely without fear of harassment, violence, or discrimination. As Reform Jews, we join in solidarity with our Muslim partners and all those fighting anti-Muslim bigotry and working to ensure the safety and security of people of all faiths.
