Congregation Shaare Emeth in St. Louis, Missouri designed "Life, Learning, Legislation" to teach the community about current issues through the lens of Jewish values. There were four components to the program: education about social justice issues and Jewish values; the legislative impact we can make; how to develop activists; and building and broadening the sense of community.
The program was scheduled to run over the Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend in mid January of 2006. The speakers were among the best and brightest individuals of their area of expertise.
