Take Federal Action

LGBTQ+ students face bullying and harassment at disturbingly high levels, yet there are no federal laws requiring local education agencies to create policies that protect students from bullying and identity-based harassment.

The Safe Schools Improvement Act would address the crisis of anti-LGBTQ+ bullying by strengthening bullying prevention measures, shoring up state standards on identity-based harassment, improving adoption of evidence-based best practices, and providing school districts with the local flexibility needed to make school safer
