CHICAGO – On Wednesday, April 25, the Reform Jewish community of Illinois will celebrate the official launch of the Illinois Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism (RAC-IL). Led by local clergy and lay leaders, with the support of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, RAC-IL is organizing the Illinois Jewish community to build a more just and compassionate Land of Lincoln for all. With a focus on racial justice and immigrant and refugee rights, RAC-IL is empowering synagogues and individuals to partner with diverse communities and meaningfully impact local and state legislation.
RAC-IL will join the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism’s other state-based affiliatess in California, Ohio, and Texas to build power, mobilize congregations, and engage the Reform Jewish community nationwide in the pursuit of justice.
