The festival of Shavuot celebrates the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai.
On the first day of the second month, in the second year following the exodus from the land of Egypt, the Eternal One spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, saying: "Take a census of the whole Israelite company…" - Numbers 1:1-2
The Eternal One spoke to Moses: "Take a census of the Gershonites also, by their ancestral house and by their clans." - Numbers 4:21-22
The Eternal One spoke to Moses, saying: "Speak to Aaron and say to him, 'When you mount the lamps, let the seven lamps give light at the front of the lampstand.'" - Numbers 8:1-2
