Welcoming the 119th Congress: A Recap of Swearing-In Day

January 7, 2025

On Friday, January 3, the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism staff visited Capitol Hill to celebrate the swearing-in of the 119th Congress. We delivered chocolate babkas and a letter outlining some of the Reform Movement's legislative and policy priorities for the 119th Congress. It was wonderful to spend time with new and returning Representatives and Senators and experience the energy and excitement across Capitol Hill.

There is a tremendous amount of work ahead as we confront the challenges facing our country and world. With congregations in all 50 states and nearly 350 Congressional districts, the Reform Movement is ready to work with elected officials of both parties to build a more just and equitable world.

As we begin this new Congress and new year, we offer our blessings to all members of Congress. Together, we can ensure that "justice rolls down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream" (Amos 5:24).
