Spread the Word: Open Enrollment is Open Until December 15!

November 15, 2017Nathan Bennett

Update: Through four days of open enrollment (Nov. 1-Nov. 4), more than 600,000 people enrolled in a marketplace plan! This number marks an increase from previous years, demonstrating the importance of ensuring people know about the options available for their health insurance.

Congress has tried to repeal it, the Trump Administration has sabotaged it, but the Affordable Care Act is still the law of the land. The administration dramatically cut enrollment advertising and assistance funding, so the faith community is stepping up to help let people know that there are affordable insurance options available on the marketplace. Through the #souls2enroll campaign, Congressional and faith leaders are working together to make this open enrollment a success. Check out this video featuring the RAC’s Director, Rabbi Jonah Dov Pesner, along with other faith leaders and Representatives Emmanuel Cleaver (MO-5) and Tom Suozzi (NY-3), that kicked off this campaign.

What you can do

Along with interfaith partners in the Interfaith Healthcare Coalition, among others, the Reform Movement is working to offer the necessary information for people to enroll in health care.

You can find social media photos, flyers, and two toolkits on our website that will help you let others know that open enrollment is open.

Feel free to share these resources, and tell anyone who may be looking to enroll that options are available—and that many can find very affordable plans in their state.
