The wildfires raging in Ft. McMurray, Alberta, have caused devastation throughout the community. More than 80,000 people have been evacuated and families have lost their homes. Many evacuees are now in Edmonton, Alberta, where shelters, food banks, and other community institutions are doing their best to support them.
JTA reports, "Jewish groups in Canada’s Alberta province have joined the efforts to support victims of the wildfires that have been raging in the area for a week and forced the evacuation of an entire city."
Donations are being accepted by the Jewish Federations of Canada – UIA Alberta Fire Relief Fund. Please note that donations are not tax deductible for American donors.
