On Thursday, a group of 40 faith leaders from the Jewish, Muslim, Catholic, and Protestant faith traditions traveled to McAllen, TX, where they met with and bore witness to the families who have crossed the border in search of a better future.
Every year on June 20, we honor the resilience and courage of refugees and celebrate their contributions to our communities and to our entire nation.
Today, we face a global refugee crisis of an unprecedented scale.
In May 2018, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that the federal government would adopt a zero-tolerance policy for unauthorized border crossings, officially instituting practices that separate children from their families. This policy applies to all border crossings, even to those people seeking asylum. As a Movement, we are heartbroken and horrified.

Pray for the children
The ones who were taken away
And pray for the leaders
Whose moral compasses have gone astray

"As Jews, we understand the plight of being an immigrant fleeing violence and oppression. We believe that the United States is a nation of immigrants and how we treat the stranger reflects on the moral values and ideals of this nation."
