I recently met a woman active in the Jewish community here in Cleveland. We shared stories about our lives and how we got involved in Jewish engagement. I learned that she grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, her family only marginally connected to Judaism.

Friends, the proverbial house, our community, is not only stricken with a plague of drug and opioid abuse – it is on fire.
