Susan Friedberg Kalson

Chair, Commission on Social Action of Reform Judaism​

Susan Friedberg Kalson has been a member of the Commission on Social Action since 2009 and served as a Vice Chair before being elected Chair at the end of 2019. A member of the North American Board of the Union for Reform Judaism and a past member of its Oversight Committee, Ms. Kalson also chaired the Biennial Resolutions Committee in 2015, 2017, and 2019. Ms. Kalson graduated from Harvard College and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and is the CEO of Squirrel Hill Health Center, a non-profit federally funded community health center serving diverse vulnerable populations in Pittsburgh, PA. A lifelong member and past President of Rodef Shalom Congregation in Pittsburgh, Ms. Kalson serves on numerous boards and committees, including her local Community Relations Council. She and her husband David, also a lawyer, live in Pittsburgh where they are the proud parents of three grown children and have one grandchild.
