Be part of the RAC's 2014 Social Action Training & Advocacy Day! This spring, join other social justice activists from congregations throughout the Reform Movement and learn the skills that will make your voice a powerful one on behalf of tikkun olam. Led by the RAC staff and other leading DC policy experts and advocates, the program will help you build and strengthen your congregation's social action work, create connections between you and other Reform activists, and culminate in a day on Capitol Hill, advocating for the social justice priorities we share as Reform Jews.
The Social Action Training Seminar tuition is $185. Advocacy Day-only registration is free with a suggested donation of $36.
Is your congregation smaller than 250 families? If so, you may qualify for a $150 grant from the Small Congregation Resource Fund (SCRF). Email Isaac Nuell, the RAC's Manager of Congregational Social Action, for more information.
The Religious Action Center designs our programs to accomodate all participants. If you require any form of special assistance or resources, please let us know prior to the Seminar.
Travel to/from Washington, DC, and the event hotel is the responsiblity of each participant. As part of your program fee, we will provide transportation on Tuesday from the hotel to Capitol Hill and then on to either Washington's Union Station or Reagan National Airport (DCA).
If you are traveling into/out of either Washington Dulles (IAD) or Baltimore Washington Airport (BWI), please contact Isaac Nuell for travel options.
We recommend that participants book trains from Union Station no earlier than 4:15 PM. Flights from National Airport should not depart before 5 PM.
