Mobilize for Child Nutrition!

For Passover in 2010, join with congregations in your area, your local Jewish Community Relations Council along with communities across the nation to host a Child Nutrition Seder during late March or throughout April, or use our one-pager to incorporate special readings into your traditional Seder.

Psalm 82:3-4 calls on us to "Defend the poor and the orphan; deal justly with the poor and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy."Get your community energized about anti-poverty advocacy by mobilizing parents, teens, and elected officials around a social justice issue that hits close to home - child nutrition.

The Child Nutrition Bill - which provides for critical reduced and free lunches, afterschool supper programs and free breakfast programs - will be coming up for re-authorization in Congress this year.

	At the Union for Reform Judaism's 2009 Biennial, Rabbi Eric Yoffie called for a commitment to ethical eating, asking synagogue leaders to formulate new eating guidelines for their communities.
