HOTEL INFORMATION
Registration fees do not cover the cost of accomodations. The event will be taking place at the L'Enfant Plaza Hotel, 480 L'Enfant Plaza, SW, Washington, DC 20024. The RAC does have a block of hotel rooms available at the L'Enfant Plaza Hotel, but all participants should make their own reservations by calling the hotel directly at 202-484-1000. All reservations must be made by Friday, March 29. The group rate will only be available after that date if there is still space in the block. In order to receive the group rate at the hotel, you must identify yourself as part of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism group.

Registration Fees
Registration fees include breakfast and lunch on both Monday and Tuesday.

CSA Spring Meeting
The Commission on Social Action (CSA), the social action policy body of Reform Judaism, will hold its spring meeting in conjunction with the Consultation. Sessions will be held on Sunday afternoon, Monday and Tuesday evenings, and on Wednesday.

All Consultation participants are welcome. Anyone interested in joining the Consultation for meals on Tuesday, and Wednesday needs to select the meal options in registration.

Richard and Lois England Rabbinic Student Seminar
In conjunction with the Consultation, the Rabbinic Student Seminar is an incredible opportunity for students at HUCJIR, JTS, UJ, YU, and RRC. Students fully participate in the Consultation and have additional programming on Monday evening. Please contact the RAC for special pricing.

First Time Social Action Chair Scholarships - SOLD OUT
Thanks to the generosity of Bauer Endowment for Consultation on Conscience Scholarships, the RAC offered a limited number of scholarships for congregational social action chairs attending the Consultation for the first time. We have distributed all of the Scholarships - Thank you for your interest

Cancellation Policy and Other Important Information
All registration cancellations are subject to a nonrefundable $40 administration fee. After March 15, 2009, 50% of the Consultation fee is non refundable. Cancellations made less than 72 hours in advance will be charged the full fee. The RAC must receive all changes and cancellations in writing. All changes and cancellations received after 5 pm EST, Monday-Friday will be processed as if received the next business day. All refunds and readjustments will be made after the conference.

Pre-Consultation Workshops
Once again we will be offering a series of pre-Consultation workshops.

1 pm - 2:45 pm

  • Great Social Action Programs for Your Congregation
    Our North American Fain award winners will discuss their programs as well as engage in an exchange about best practices.
  • Web 2.0 as Social Action Tools
    Use emerging technologies and communications strategy to effectively bring social justice to your community; we will explore blogs, social networks, and traditional media as tools for change.

2:45 - 4:15 pm

  • Greening and the Environment
    Learn successful and replicable models on how to engage your community in environmentally responsible behavior. This session will feature holiday programming ideas, environmental advocacy opportunities and tips on how to green your synagogue.
  • Global Engagement
    Recognizing the global trend of extreme poverty and our ever-growing interconnectedness in an age of unprecedented prosperity, science and technology, our congregations are taking action. Learn what creative and replicable ways your community can make a difference on the global front.
  • More Great Social Action Programs for Your Congregation
    Our North American Fain award winners will discuss their programs as well as engage in an exchange about best practices.

A variety of Senators, Representatives, public policy, and opinion leaders will explore issues central to our movement's values. Participants will examine current events and the social issues that shape the political debate.
