Ideas for Action

-Hold a competition between religious school classes, schools, or youth groups to get the most postcards signed.

-Create a display in a central location to inspire postcard signatures.  Pictures from Darfur can be found at U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum site.

-Include the postcards with services at a Human Rights Shabbat.

-Include the postcards in your Nothing But Nets fundraising.  The Nets will be used by refugees of conflict including the genocide in Darfur.

-Search the program bank for programs on Darfur.

-For more ideas and resources or to share your own visit the RAC’s Darfur page or e-mail legislative assistant Micaela Hellman-Tincher.

SIGN AN ONLINE POSTCARD! RAISE YOUR VOICE FOR DARFUR!

Join a million voices across the world asking President Obama to make Darfur a priority, and to achieve:

  • Protection of civilians from violence, starvation and disease
  • Sustainable peace for all Sudan
  • Justice for victims and accountability for perpetrators

Over the past four years, Darfur activism has helped keep the world's attention on the atrocities taking place. Reform Jews have wholeheartedly taken on the cause: They have lobbied on Capitol Hill and across the country. They have spread awareness at their Seder tables and organized fundraisers for solar cookers.

In recent months, attacks on refugee camps have increased, turning the places where survivors once found refuge into danger zones. The UN peacekeeping mission in Darfur is stretched beyond its means.

We must lift up our voices and become a voice for Darfur! During the As the new President marks his first 100 days in office, he must hear our commitment to bringing protection, peace and justice to Darfur.
