Latest Gulf Updates

In case you missed it: the Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life recently hosted a Gulf update call with local and national rabbinic leaders. Learn about these rabbis' recent experiences in the Gulf and what we can do to help by downloading the audio and listening to the call.

Check out video from Rabbi Saperstein's recent Gulf trip on the RAC's YouTube channel.

Interested in future update calls? Email Rachel Cohen with "oil spill calls" in the subject line to receive information on upcoming calls with our partners throughout the faith community.

Jewish Values and the Oil Disaster

Celebrate Shabbat Noah
October 8-9 is Shabbat Noah, when we read the Torah portion about the Noah, the Ark, the Rainbow and the Covenant. This year, Reform synagogues across North America will join a Jewish-community wide initiative as we celebrate an environmental Shabbat in response to the Gulf oil spill crisis and our ongoing climate and energy challenges. We hope your community will commemorate Shabbat Noah and let us know what you are doing to become more environmentally sustainable.

Offer support for residents, families and friends in the affected region with RAC resources and ideas from our congregants and coalition partners:
