Our country is overdue for a conversation about what it's really like to be part of a working family in America today. So when I heard that the White House will hold a Summit on Working Families on June 23, I felt a surge of excitement. Finally, the conversations we've been having in the carpool lines and on our coffee breaks will be ringing in the halls of the White House. Saying that French officials have condemned anti-semitic acts and thinking that is sufficient is part of the problem. Until France takes concrete steps such as deporting imams who call for the killing of Jews, nothing will change. Prohibiting demonstrations and then doing nothing when they happen anyway is as good as doing nothing. Talk is cheap - it takes concrete action to prevent things from getting even worse than they already are.
