Organ Donation
Organ donation is a matter of life and death for 70,000 Americans waiting to receive transplants. Sadly, there is a significant lack of organs available, making the policy regulating their allocation and the prioritization of those who are the most sick critical in maximizing the number saved.

Organ donation is a matter of life and death for 70,000 Americans waiting to receive transplants. Sadly, there is a significant lack of organs available, making the policy regulating their allocation and the prioritization of those who are the most sick critical in maximizing the number saved.

The Reform Movement has led the interfaith community in raising awareness about organ donation for the past several years through congregational outreach and partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services. We place great importance on seeing that organs are distributed appropriately. Both our devotion to pikuach nefesh (saving a life) and our conviction that "You shall not stand idly by the blood of your neighbor" (Leviticus 19:16) compel us to support and encourage organ donation.
