Jennifer Brodkey Kaufman is the chair of the Commission on Social Action of Reform Judaism. She is also a member of the Union for Reform Judaism's North American Board of Trustees and its Oversight Committee. She is a past chair of the URJ Resolutions Committee and has served on numerous committees and task forces of the URJ.
Jennifer grew up in Chicago and received a degree in Classics from Washington University in St. Louis. She worked as a union organizer in Chicago, lived in Austin, Texas, and moved to Sacramento, California in 1979. Jennifer is a past president of Congregation B'nai Israel and remains an active member. She is an attorney who worked for the California Court of Appeal for more than 27 years and is a past president of Women Lawyers of Sacramento. She has been involved in a variety of social justice efforts in her community.
